Acting in Truth

ASK GOD TO SHOW YOU HOW THE TRUTH REALLY CAN BRING FREEDOM.

Read 1 Peter 1:13-25.  Reflect on 1 Peter 1:22-25.

As a great Craftsman, God works on our souls, gradually making us more like him.  How are our souls purified, made more in the likeness of God, as He intended us to be (1 Peter 1:22, Gen 1:23-27)?  How should we respond to God’s efforts?

The truth allows us to freely live as imitators of Christ.  As we become more like Jesus, our concerns about who we are, the purpose of our lives, and any long-term plans are resolved.  We can rest firmly in the knowledge that the all-knowing God will reveal Himself to us as we pray to Him and serve Him.  In what way have we been “born again” to live this truth (1 Peter 1:23)?

Read Isaiah 40:6-8 and James 1:10-15.  How do these passages shed light on Peter’s message (1Peter 1:24-25)?  What has been proclaimed to us?

Are you living as grass that withers or as a flower that fails - or in the glory of God?  What has more control over your life; the temporary or the eternal?

REFLECT AND PRAY THROUGH THESE QUESTIONS THROUGHOUT YOUR WEEK.
